About Our Club

Our History

The original Skagit Golf and Country Club was founded in the roaring 1920s and was notorious for its slot machines, free-flowing liquor and high-fashion parties. The nine-hole golf course was shared with deer, sheep and cattle.

In the late 1940s, the Clubhouse was destroyed by a fire and shortly thereafter purchased by Andy and Polly Anderson.

At that time, the Clubhouse was set up in the caddy shack where the existing cart barn now sits. Andy built the current clubhouse on the original site.

The Club was sold to Skyco (a real estate company) and they bought the land for the new nine.

The members bought the Club from Skyco on October 1, 1968.

The new nine was finished in 1971.
